Back to School!
Chalkley Connection - August 2024
Our Chalkley Connection team prepared and served breakfast to the 28 new teachers on their first day at school! We also presented them with a “Survival Kit” filled with supplies and sweet goodies to get them off to a great start!

A big thank you to Catherine Dodson.
She has been helping in the nursery for over 10 years every Sunday from 8:45am until noon. Catherine has been CPR and Red Cross Trained since she was 12. Your Bon Air children have been loved and learned so much from her kindness and experienced her natural baby whispering skills. Catherine is headed to Sweet Briar College to study Engineering and Business college in August. When you see her please give her a big thank you for taking care of your Bon Air
kids.
Caroline Ward, Catherine’s Best friend since kindergarten started helping 5 years ago too. She will be going to Longwood College to study Business and Entrepreneurship. Caroline’s organization and decorating skills, as well as her loving smile has contributed to happy Sunday mornings.
McKenzie Tunstall who works with Catherine at the YMCA’s Child Watch has started helping this last year. McKenzie is a proficient hide and seek player and the best with helping the children create crafty keep sakes for the parents. McKenzie is a registered Nurse and will continue her Schooling at Brightpoint Community College's Nursing School. McKenzie hopes to continue to help on Sundays as her schedule allows.
At this time, I sincerely request that you please look into your hearts and schedules to come and be a second set of hands in your BAUMC Nursery.
Vacation Bible School - June 24th-28th, 2024
We had a blast at Camp Firelight this year!
Our campers collected donations for United Methodist ministries. The group with the highest donation was given the chance to pie Pastor Mike at the end of the week. Bon Air UMC staff matched VBS donations allowing us to give over $600 to United Methodist ministries.
Heart Havens Day - June 9th, 2024
On Disability Awareness Sunday, our Heart Havens guests helped us celebrate by presenting personal presentations during the 11:00 AM service as part of our celebration. We followed this up with our annual Picnic in the gym, which everyone enjoyed!
